From the Principal's Office

Ensuring that faith-based schools can continue to serve inner-city children requires a commitment from the federal government. We provide federal funding support for institutions of higher learning. We’re using taxpayers money to enable somebody to go to a private university, a religious university. It’s a long tradition of the United States of America. So my attitude is if we’re doing this, if this is a precedent, why don’t we use the same philosophy to provide federal funds to help inner-city families find greater choices in educating their children. President George Bush speaking at the White House Summit on Inner-City C hildren and Faith-Based Schools, April 24, 2008

Child Development

Early Childhood Development: *Selman’s Stages of Perspective Taking: Undifferntiated=children know that self and others can have different thoughts and feelings, but often confuse the two

Primary and Intermediate Development: *Popular children seem gifted in assessing and monitoring their own social impact in various situations and in tailoring their responses to the requirements of new social situations. They are more likely to share, cooperate and help and less likely to start fights and break rules. They take turns and are less likely to interrupt others.

Middle School Development: *As myelination continues and coordination between various parts of the brain becomes more elaborate, adolescents become quicker and deeper thinkers.
