You have made for us yourself, O Lord, and our heart is restless until it rests in You." - St. Augustine
"The desire for God is written in the human heart, because man is created by God and for God; and God never ceases to draw man to himself. Only in God will [we] find the truth and happiness [we] never [stop] searching for" CCC27
While many are welcomed into the church as infants, others come to know God and desire to join or enter full communion with His Holy Catholic Church later in life.
For such persons, the church has a process of initiation called the Rite of Christian Initiation for Christian Adults (RCIA). This process involves attending weekly classes to prepare for the reception of the sacraments at the Easter Vigil Mass and undergoing the Rite of Election and spiritual purification during Lent.
These classes are offered to anyone who feels called to the Catholic faith - those who have never been baptized as Christians, those who have been baptized in another Christian faith and are now interested in the Catholic church, and those who have been baptized in the Catholic church but have not received the sacraments of the Eucharist and confirmation - everyone is welcome!
